These nine studies were written over a two-month period in early 2000. The technical difficulties encountered in several of these pieces realistically make these studies the domain of the higher-grade player.
As well as good, solid technical workouts, the pieces are hopefully interesting enough, musically, to be also considered for the concert platform.
The album is dedicated to Lorraine Eastwood.
"The studies are short and to the point, and couched in a largely accessible contemporary idiom that refers to jazz and rock. I am sure they will get performed, as there is sufficiently generous creative imagination present to hold an audience." - CLASSICAL GUITAR MAGAZINE
