A Christmas Selection Box arranged by Tanja Miric

A Christmas Selection Box is an assortment of carols from around the world, sufficiently complex to be of interest to the advancing player, creatively and imaginatively arranged for solo guitar by Tanja Mirić.

Tanja's arrangements are idiomatic whilst avoiding many of the usual guitar clichés, thus breathing fresh life into these much beloved seasonal melodies. Setting techniques include alternating the tune between treble and bass, changing key, introducing unusual harmonic inflections, all with a variety of accompanying figurations.

Play them for personal pleasure or to entertain the troops during the festivities, or even use the more complex ‘stand out’ arrangements as recital repertoire. Also makes the perfect gift for the guitarist in your life!

Contents are: Angels We Have Heard on High (aka Angels from the Realms of Glory); both the Kirkpatrick (Cradle Song) and Murray (Mueller) versions of Away in a Manger; Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus (aka Hyfrydol / Love Divine, All Loves Excelling); God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen; In the Bleak Midwinter (aka Cranham); O Little Town of Bethlehem (aka St Louis!); See, amid the Winter's Snow (aka Hymn for Christmas Day); Silent Night!
