Trois Serenades by Paul Lewis

Trois Serenades was completed in France in April 1992 for guitarist John Mills and first performed by him at the Purcell Room in London on May 3rd that year. They are adapted from background music pieces composed in 1969 and are also available in their original scoring for guitar, flute, oboe and cello. The guitar part has been fingered by John Mills.

Paul Lewis was born in Brighton in 1943 and has, since the age of 20, composed prolifically for television including Arthur of the Britons, The Dark Angel (with Peter OToole) and the long-running childrens sitcom Woof!. His music has also been heard in such television classics as The Benny Hill Show and Monty Pythons Flying Circus. His orchestral works appear on CD in such best-selling series as ASVs British Light Music Discoveries and English String Miniatures on Naxos.
